Rehabilitation

Progressive rehabilitation and a ‘life of mine’ approach is extremely important to Idemitsu Australia, and we are committed to returning the land to at least or better than pre-mining conditions for the future benefit of local regions.

We aim to restore previously mined areas through pasture and native vegetation rehabilitation including developing optimum landforms and vegetation profiles, and exploring opportunities for farming, grazing, and forestry.

Rehabilitation program activities are ongoing at Boggabri Coal Mine to re-establish pre-mining diversity values, and significant rehabilitation program activities continue at Muswellbrook Coal Mine following the completion of coal mining in December 2022.
