At Idemitsu Australia, we are committed to managing environmental impacts responsibly across all operations and projects. Our approach is guided by transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Our commitments

• Compliance first: We meet or exceed all environmental legislation in the regions where we operate.
• Stakeholder engagement: We maintain open, constructive communication with stakeholders to understand and address environmental impacts.
• Impact reduction: We use insights to build a holistic view of our environment and work to eliminate, minimise, or mitigate impacts.
• Certified systems: We implement and maintain an Environmental Management System aligned with ISO 14001.
• Carbon management: We actively manage emissions at all sites and integrate this into business planning to support strategic targets set by Federal and State Governments and Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd.

Our goal is to earn recognition from stakeholders for proactive environmental management and stewardship, conserving resources and maintain our social licence to operate.

Compliance and future reporting

Idemitsu is covered under the federal Safeguard Mechanism – DCCEEW: https://www.dcceew.gov.au.

From 2026, Idemitsu will report as a Group 1 Organisation under the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards including climate-related disclosures (Scope 1 & 2 emissions), governance, risk management and transition planning.
