Our Vision
We are an energy solutions company that values inclusiveness and sustainability, with a commitment to our people, the environment, customers and society.
Our Values
In all our operations worldwide, we practice the simple Japanese philosophy established by our founder, Sazo Idemitsu, of ‘respect for human beings’. This is underpinned by the core values of our Australian business:
WE PUT PEOPLE FIRST
We look after each other as a close-knit team seeing work as a growth opportunity.
WE DO WHAT WE SAY WE'LL DO
We are committed to operating with integrity and staying true to our word.
WE ARE ALWAYS IMPROVING
We never stop learning and are always challenging ourselves to do our best.
Our Benefits
At Idemitsu Australia we believe in looking after our people, that’s why we offer competitive remuneration including a short-term incentive program, in addition to a range of other rewards and incentives. While benefits vary across our business, examples include; study assistance, flexible working arrangements and housing assistance. We also strive to keep you happy and healthy, with benefits like PT sessions, counselling sessions, vaccinations, annual health checks and 18 weeks paid parental leave above and beyond any current government schemes.
Our Five Principles: Working with Respect, integrity and dignity
Our founder, Sazo Idemitsu had a unique approach to doing business – this approach is expressed in our 5 Principles. These Principles have been the foundation of our culture and identity for 100 years and continue to be today. They inform our decisions and behaviours, while acting as a guiding philosophy behind everything we do.
1. Respect for human beings
Central to Idemitsu’s philosophy is the belief that everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. This belief flows through each and every element of our business approach worldwide.
2. The great family-like concept
We look after each other—working together to create growth and opportunity. This ensures a supportive, collaborative environment where everyone feels respected and free to share ideas.
3. Independence and autonomy
We empower our employees to work with autonomy — encouraging them to take responsibility for their tasks and deliver them with pride.
4. Don't be a slave to money
Our founder was not primarily motivated by money, but rather by the ideal that business can make a positive impact on society. That’s why we never let our desire to succeed compromise our integrity as good corporate citizens.
5. A bridge from producers to consumers
We believe that we have a responsibility to give back to society. We are committed to delivering quality products that improve the lives of our customers and communities in which we work.
